    • Abstract:
The article presents information about several new books related to law and economics. The book "Research in Law and Economics," vol. 19, edited by Richard O. Zerbe and William Kovacic, examines research in law and economics. The book focuses on statistical approaches to assessing charges of environmental racism and classism against the U.S. environmental agency, statutes of limitations for accident cases and lessons from the Coase theorem. Another book "The Governance of Corporate Groups," by Janet Dine, considers the optimum basis for regulating companies and groups of related companies. Examines ways in which disparate theories of company existence give rise to different models of companies. Compares different legal approaches to corporate group regulation in Great Britain and European laws. Examines the way in which international corporate issues have been addressed by private international law. Discusses some issues raised by the globalization of the world economy, including the effect of transnational corporations on development.
