      In this article the author discusses aspects of Canada's Bill C-232 that requires all appointees to the Supreme Court to be fluent in both French and English. The author comments on the inefficiency of this law because of the costs occurred when a judge is forced to speak in his second language and when another judge must listen to an interpreter. Also investigated is the possible decline in the quality of judges.
