    • Abstract:
The article examines the German policy on immigration. It is noted that Germany's economic well-being is predicated on attracting highly skilled foreign workers despite the contention from some on the German political right wing that Germany is destroying itself with the influx of immigrants. A number of topics are addressed including the book "Germany Does Away with Itself," by Thilo Sarrazin, chancellor Angela Merkel's concerns about immigration, and political challenges to German immigration.
