      The article focuses on the growing influence of women legislators in the U.S. and the record participation of women in the 2012 election. The U.S. Congress will welcome 20 new female legislators, 11 of them are senators. Women also represented 53 percent of the overall popular vote, most of them supporting the reelection bid of President Barack Obama. Members of Congress and political pundits believe that increased women's participation will have an effect on the legislative process.
