      The article presents excerpts of articles published 50, 100, and 150 years ago in "Scientific American" including one a device called the Picturephone developed by the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) in the July 1964 issue, one on the International Exposition of Book Trade and the Graphic Arts at Leipzig, Germany in the July 1914 issue, and one on wheat found in the sepulchres of Egypt by Antonio Figari-Bey in the July 1864 issue.
