      The article examines the emergency management program (EMP) activities of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2018. The EMP activities include Incident Management System (IMS) activations, EMP utilizations and exercises to prepare for disasters, security challenges and infectious disease outbreaks. Also mentioned are the outbreaks responded by the CDC like the 2014 Ebola epidemic and the 2016 Zika outbreak.
