      An interview with U.S. National Ambassador for Young People's Literature and author Katherine Paterson is presented. When asked about the role of libraries related to literacy goals, Paterson discusses the impact of libraries and librarians on her childhood and on the importance of libraries for self-education. She also discusses the experience of winning the Newbery Medal, U.S. reading assessment results, and literacy programs planned for her ambassadorship.
