    • Abstract:
Part I. A selection of volume printers and digital presses are tested and evaluated in terms of color consistency and reliability. The printers tested are the Canon CLC 5100, Xerox DocuColor 8000, Konica Minolta Bizhub C500 and Oce CPS900. Sheet 125 is used as the reference sheet. It tells how near or far the other sheets are placed with regard to color reproduction. Measurements were carried out using Gretag Macbeth's Spectrolino and xy-table Spectroscan. Most of the printers are intended for production environments but also can be used in larger office settings. The machines were tested according to pages per minute, measured speed pages per minute, production stop, register control, start up deviation, minimum grammage, maximum grammage, maximum grammage, maximum format, minimum format, resolution, price, click charge color and controller.
