The article presents the author's views on her avoidance of the ideology of gender due to her need to detach as a writer. Topics include her resistance to the feminist movement, life as a young woman in a boarding school, her marriage, career as a writer, and her fear and suspicion of other women. Also discussed are gender expectations and the challenges she faced as a woman.
