    • Abstract:
Testimonies concerning the process of sculptural creation are scant in Renaissance Spain. Gaspar Becerra (1520-68), trained in Italy, became, alongside Alonso Berruguete, the quintessential sculptor. However, his role was that of a great team manager, especially in wood-carving. Following the Italian method, he not only provided drawings but also small models which were executed by his disciples. The reiterative use of those models contributed to the uniformity, and also to the exhaustion, of the artistic movement in Spain which has been called Romanism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
    • Abstract:
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
