    • Abstract:
The article presents the author's comments on motion pictures. The author says that if the moving picture is an art it must have something to do with the creative impulse. It must have control of its mechanism and it must use materials adaptable to that mechanism. The moving picture is further astray in thinking so much of its relation to photography. As a result it prides itself on reproductive accuracy instead of on imaginative power. It should, of course, be much closer to painting and to sculpture and to music. It is absorbed in plot and in realism.
