    • Abstract:
This article presents information on the book "The Sequel to Catholic Emancipation," by Monsignor Bernard Ward. This book, reportedly, focuses on Catholicism in Great Britain. With this book, Ward brings his history of Modern English Catholicism down to the reestablishment of the Hierarchy in the year 1850. Emancipation was formally proclaimed In 1829; so that the present work is the story of the adjustments made possible by the removal of legal disabilities, but hindered in many ways by the persistence or what our author would call misunderstandings on the part of the English people in general as to the real character of the Catholic claims.
