    • Abstract:
This article records, firstly, the moments when Joan Maragall and Prudenci Bertrana met, when the poet was already a leading figure and the writer was just beginning to develop his literary career. Maragall contributed to the career of Bertrana by encouraging him to write an outstanding work in his career path: Proses bàrbares. Such work emphasises the love to nature that both Maragall and Bertrana shared. Therefore, secondly, their respective approaches to nature -to which both felt devotion- are appreciated. Thirdly and finally, seeing that they were not only contemplatives of nature but also of its society, the article focuses on their respective ways of working as journalists and chroniclers of their time, and it also highlights two moments when their journalistic voices aspired to awake awareness: the Tragic Week of 1909 for Maragall and the typhus epidemic of 1914 for Bertrana. • Abstract:
