- Abstract:
An interview with Werner Vogels, the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of Google Inc., is presented. Particular focus is given to the lessons to be learned from the evolution of a single distributed system -- Simple Storage Service (S3), launched in 2006. Other topics discussed include Vogels' keynote at the AWS re:Invent conference in December 2019, Zoom videoconferencing software and a list of the principles of distributed system design.
