    • Abstract:
Covid-19 pandemic has changed the health, socio-economic, educational, and cultural scene around the world in a way that is unprecedented. Lifestyle changes will be part of the 'New normal'. Older people are likely to be affected more not only by Covid-19 itself but also by the way it will alter the familiar reality around them. There are reports of adverse effects of the pandemic on physical and mental health of the elderly and an increase in violation of their rights. This theoretical paper discusses issues such as mental health of older people, elder abuse, human rights, and caregiving scene in the context of the pandemic. There is also an optimistic belief that resilience and life experience of older people will help them adjust to the new normal. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
