      Ruth Lee Kennedy, in her book The Dramatic Art of Moreto [1932], pointed out eleven of Moreto's plays that were written based on previous works by Lope. However, new studies and stylometric techniques allow us to affirm that there are other cases of rewriting between these two playwrights. This work presents one of those cases: by Lope's El piadoso aragonés and Moreto's El hijo obediente. This article will study the most important similarities and differences between both plays.       Ruth Lee Kennedy, en su obra The Dramatic Art of Moreto [1932], señaló once comedias de Moreto escritas a partir de obras de Lope. Sin embargo, los nuevos estudios y las técnicas estilométricas permiten afirmar que existen otros casos de reescritura entre estos dos dramaturgos. Este trabajo presenta uno de ellos, constituido por El piadoso aragonés, de Lope, y El hijo obediente, de Moreto. Por lo tanto, a lo largo de este estudio se argumentará esta circunstancia y se profundizará en las similitudes y divergencias más destacadas entre las dos comedias mencionadas.
