The article looks at the housing market in the United States to see if prices have peaked. Building permits have dropped. Pending-home-sales figures have declined. Sales of existing homes have declined. It is unlikely that the housing market will halt completely. researchers at Moody's Economy.com and home property-valuation service Fiserv CSW looked at the 100 largest metropolitan regions in the U.S. to evaluate the housing market. They found that markets that have seen the greatest appreciation over the past five years appear to be the most vulnerable. A third of the nation's largest metropolitan areas are expected to see falling housing prices in the next couple years.
