The article focuses on the use of mimetic visuality and transience in documentary films. The author describes the documentary "Saacha," by Anjali Monteiro and K. P. Jayasankar, a film about the transformation of Mumbai with the closure of the cotton mills in the 1980s. She discusses that rhythm, movement and tactility blur the boundaries between self and other in a prototype of embodied mimetic visuality, a kind of perceptual experience that brings the ‘subject’ into proximity with the ‘object’.
