      The article reports on the statement issued by the U.S. consul at Adelaide, South Australia on August 1, 1925 concerning changes in the basic wage rate. The basic minimum wage rates for adult male employees will be raised to 14s 3d per day, which is based on the cost of living in South Australia. The rates of all classes of industries will be automatically increase. The pay roll to State Government employees has automatically increases by more than £100,000 per annum, and it is expected that the new award will increase the state's pay roll by another £100,000.
