      The article deals with the determinative role and manipulative capabilities of the landowning elites of East Elbia in Germany. The corporate influence of East Elbian estate agriculture remained formidable until 1945, despite the challenges of advancing capitalism and the encroachment of mass politics. The problems of the East Elbian landowning elites produced meaningful consequences. The elites demanded agrarian politicization and precluded decisive alternatives to the domination of estate owners.
