Italian serias were deeply indebted to French sources and models, especially those that were made and commercialized between 1917 and 1924. Most critics during those times criticize and condemn the pervasiveness of American serials, putting pressure on national productions and giving rise to discussions. It explains that the term and category of serial refers to a narrative that is divided in two or more parts.
