      This paper is part of a wider research work analyzing the relationship between the banking system and the media system in Spain between 1976 and 2004. We present here an analysis of how this relationship study has evolved, together with a case study based upon the two corresponding leading organizations in Spain: the SCH group (banking sector) and the PRISA group (media sector).       Este artículo se enmarca en una investigación más amplia de análisis de las relaciones entre el sistema financiero y el sistema mediático para el periodo 1976 y 2004 en España. Aquí se presentan en concreto la evolución teórica del estudio de estas relaciones, así como los resultados obtenidos para el caso de los vínculos entre los dos líderes en España para los respectivos sectores: el grupo SCH en el ámbito financiero, y el grupo PRISA en el mediático.
