      The article discusses the Richard Wright Centennial Conference that was held at the American University of Paris (AUP), France from June 17-20, 2008. Scholar John A. Williams presented an essay on Wright about the obstacles that he and his work faced critically and politically. Wright's daughter, Julia, spoke about the persecution her father suffered and about being his literary executor. Joyce Ann Joyce spoke about Wright's novel "A Father's Law."
