The article offers information on a circular drafted by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) regarding the merger and consolidation of credit institutions in Vietnam, in view of the popularity of mergers and acquisitions as a result of the financial crisis. It states that the draft circular requests credit institutions to obtain the opinion of the competition managing agency regarding their merger or consolidation, and regulates two methods of merger and consolidation, voluntary and appointed.
