    • Abstract:
The article examines the popularity of three-dimensional (3-D) films in the U.S. in 1953. The decline of the motion picture industry is partly attributed to World War II and the advent of television (TV). The release of the film "Bwana Devil" is credited for the acceptance of 3-D in the country. British filmmaker Sir Alexander Korda predicted the demise of the cinema due to the fascination of the public with TV and their reluctance to leave their homes to watch a film.
