      The article provides a brief overview of the history of the use of caricatures, cartoons, and art by labor union activists in the United States and details the authors' work teaching how to create and include art motifs into labor campaigns. The history of the creative use of art and music by members of the international union Industrial Workers of the World, generally known as Wobblies, is discussed. Notable cartoonists considered include Ernest Riebe, Ralph Chapman, and Joe Hill. Other topics include the use of computers to generate collages, the successful use of parody by the Teamsters union against automobile manufacturer BMW in 2011, and legal aspects of cartooning.
