      The article presents a day-by-day account of proving why December is a month for drinking which include the commemoration of the first drive-in gas station which was opened on December 1, 1913 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Charles Dickens' reading tour of America on December 2, 1867 in New York City, and the Nobel Prize for Literature that Ernest Hemingway won on December 10, 1954. Also mentioned is General Douglas MacArthur's arrival on December 15, 1944 in Mindoro, Philippines.
