      The article presents a study which examines the relationship between ability, motivation and opportunity (AMO) theory and human resource (HR) practices in knowledge-intensive firms (KIFs) in Luxembourg in 2012. The investigates the contribution of HR practices to employee performance and motivation and work environment. It discusses the positive impact of HR practices on group-level professional expertise and business unit (BU) performance. The study suggests that HR practices encourage positive behavior and development of collective human capital.
