      Twenty-eight countries are represented in the 25 feature-length films in the main section of the Cannes sidebar Directors' Fortnight and all but one is a world premiere of the year 2003. Fortnight and all but one is a world premiere.Overall, the lineup is strong on European titles, with one film each from Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Norway, Romania and Belgium, and two from Portugal.As with the Competition selection, France is strongly represented this year, with six Gallic films in the Directors' Fortnight lineup plus two special screenings and a further four French co-productions in the mix.
