THE INTERNETAND CHILDREN'S RESPONSIBILITIES. An Analysis of the Relationship Between the Use of Internet and Everyday Responsibilities of Primary School Children in Zagreb. (English)

This paper analyses the relationship between the use of Internet and everyday responsibilities of children of primary school age. The paper is based on data collected in empirical research on the use of Internet, conducted in March 2013 at a primary school in Zagreb. A group questionnaire was used to gather data among primary school students in higher grades/classes (N=272). The use of Internet was operationalised according to the following criteria: type and frequency of Internet use, everyday use, presence of parental control, presence and adherence to parental rules regarding Internet use, and the most frequented Internet sites. "Everyday responsibilities" of children included studying and homework assignments to be completed outside of school, as well as household chores. The research tested the general hypothesis that the use of Internet presents an important activity in children's everyday lives, which is, among other things, related to the amount of time they spend in ful filling their everyday responsibilities. The results were further correlated with gender and school grade/class level. In addition, the research tested several working hypotheses regarding the relationship between Internet use and children's everyday responsibilities. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird die Wechselwirkung zwischen Internetnutzung und täglichen Kinderpflichten analysiert. Die Arbeit beruht auf der Ergenbisanalyse der im März 2013 in einer Zagreber Grundschule durchgeführten empirischen Forschung zur Internetnutzung. Die Forschung wurde in Form einer Umfrage (Gruppenumfrage) unter Schülern in höheren Klassen (N=272) durchgeführt. Die Internetnutzung wird mit Hilfe folgender Indikatoren analysiert: Art und Häufigkeit des Internetzugangs, tägliche Nutzung, Bestehen der elterlichen Aufsicht, Frage, ob eine Absprache zur Internetnutzung besteht und ob sich die Kinder daran halten, die meistbesuchten Internetseiten. Unter täglichen Kinderpflichten versteht man hier Lernen und Hausaufgaben, sowie einige Arbeiten im Haushalt. In der Arbeit wird von der allgemeinen Hypothese ausgegangen, dass die Internetnutzung eine wichtige Aktivität im täglichen Leben der Kinder ist, was unter anderem mit der Zeit verbunden ist, die nötig ist, um täglichen Pflichten nachzukommen. In der Übersicht und Analyse werden die genannten Indikatoren hinsichtlich des Geschlechts und Schulklasse des Befragten analysiert. In der Arbeit werden mehrere Arbeitshypothesen gestellt, auf denen die Analyase der Wechselwirkung zwischen Internetnutzung und täglichen Pflichten Zagreber Grundschulkinder beruht. Die Ergebnisse der Analyse bestätigen den größten Teil von Arbeitshypothesen, während ein kleinerer Teil unbestätigt bleibt. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

U radu se analizira utjecaj korištenja interneta na svakodnevne obaveze djece. Rad se temelji na analizi rezultata empirijskog istraživanja o korištenju interneta provedenog u ožujku 2013. godine u jednoj osnovnoj školi u Zagrebu. Istraživanje je provedeno usmenom anketom (grupno anketiranje) na učenicima viših razreda (N=272). Korištenje interneta analizira se pomoću sljedećih pokazatelja: način i učestalost pristupa internetu, svakodnevno korištenje, postojanje kontrole roditelja, postojanje i pridržavanje dogovora s roditeljima o korištenju interneta i najčešće korišteni sadržaji na internetu. Pod „svakodnevnim obavezama" djece u radu se podrazumijevaju učenje i pisanje zadaća izvan škole te obavljanje nekih kućanskih poslova. U radu se polazi od opće hipoteze da korištenje internetom predstavlja važnu aktivnost u svakodnevnom životu djece koja, između ostalog, utječe i na količinu vremena posvećenog ispunjavanju svakodnevnih obaveza. U pregledu i analizi osnovnih rezultata istraživanja navedeni pokazatelji analiziraju se s obzirom na spol, dob i razred ispitanika. U radu se postavlja i više radnih hipoteza na kojima se temelji analiza utjecaja korištenja interneta na svakodnevne obaveze djece. Rezultati analize potvrđuju veći dio radnih hipoteza, dok manji dio radnih hipoteza nije potvrđen. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
