    • Abstract:
ED WOODWARD has warned that Manchester United will curb their spending this summer and cannot break the world transfer record to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham for £200million. While bids for Kane or Borussia Dortmund's £100m-rated Jadon Sancho cannot be ruled out, the United chief executive insists the figures are unrealistic. He said: 'I cannot help feeling that speculation around transfers of individual players for hundreds of millions of pounds this summer seems to ignore the realities that face the sport. 'Nobody should be under any illusions about the scale of the challenge facing everyone in football and it may not be business as usual for any clubs, including ourselves, in the transfer market this summer.' Kane cast doubt over his future last month by admitting that he wouldn't stay 'for the sake of it'. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
