    • Abstract:
The article profiles Donald Wilson, CEO of DRW Holdings LLC, a Chicago futures and options trading firm and a man whose interests in the markets have benefited the city as much as himself. One week before the stock market tumbles in October 1989, he started trading, using $100,000 in backing from a company that supported new traders for a share of their profits. Wilson began to hire his own trading employees in 1991. Around the same time, he invested $500,000 in the film of a high school friend. In 1994, he moved to London to take advantage of the high volume of trading related to the launch of the euro. In 2001, Wilson invested in Liquidity Direct Technology LLC, a Chicago-based options trading technology firm, which was sold to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 2004.
