    • Abstract:
The existence of a treatment-custody conflict in people changing institutions that derives from the need of administrators o f these facilities to maintain organizational stability and control her caused correctional officers to stress the use of authority over treatment concerns. The focus here is the extent that custodial responsibilities (use of authority to gain inmate compliance) causes ambiguous and conflicting role definitions for correctional officers.
