- Abstract: The article provides answers to several questions about research on the teaching of English-language learners (ELLs). Topics of discussion include the federal law about schools' approach to ELL instruction, the effectiveness of different ELL instructional methods, the average time its takes ELLs to become proficient in English, and the advantages of bilingualism.
