      Sony and Panasonic brought the first generation high-definition video cameras to people, but no one is resting on their laurels. Thomson introduced the Viper FilmStream camera two years ago. Now, Sony adds the SRW-1 digital field videotape recorder and SRPC-1 digital processor. This system permits field recording of the SR camera's RGB (4:4:4) signal, as well as the ability to receive the uncompressed 4:2:2 HD-SDI output of the HDW-F900 HDCAM. What began as an equipment sales venue for radio and television engineers is now the largest technology showcase for the acquisition, production and distribution of not only broadcasting, but the entire media spectrum—from the Internet to motion pictures.
