      This article discusses the growth in studies of American conservatism by scholars and the blind spots that plague this scholarship. It tackles the dismissals of class-based interpretations of the past, the differences and similarities between conservatives and liberals, and the significant role of historians in the marginalization of the histories of class struggle.
