    • Abstract:
Americans do not understand the long-term-care system, nor do they prepare financially for the time when they will need long-term services and supports (LTSS). Educating the public about planning and preparing for these services is critical, but to date, awareness campaigns have done little to encourage planning. The time has come to develop a campaign, using modern techniques that will inform the public about LTSS and improve financial literacy. The LTSS system is unsustainable; system reform and efforts to improve financial literacy are necessary. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
