    • Abstract:
The author presents her views on the less traditional forms of novels, short stories and poems adopted by writers over the centuries. She notes the writing style of Irish author Samuel Beckett and his use of Anglo-Saxon and alliteration. She mentions American contemporary poet Charles Bernstein as one of the originators of the so-called Language School of poetry. She also believes that poet Lorin Niedecker is a master of brevity and the concrete.
