      The article discusses about USS Lewis B. Puller (ESB-3), second ship named after Marine Lt. Gen. Lewis Burwell Puller. It is the U.S. Navy's first purpose-built Expeditionary Mobile Base model and a variant of Expeditionary Transfer Dock vessels which is a floating Swiss Army knife. It is based on an Alaska-class oil tanker and was developed to provide platform for the launching and landing of manned boats and rotary aircraft and Special Operations Forces and Marines.
