    • Abstract:
New Zealand's international tourism market might not be growing at the same breakneck speed it has over the past five years, but the industry is still New Zealand's largest export earner with total annual tourism expenditure of $39.1 billion and international tourism expenditure of $16.2 billion. In 2016 Nga Tahu Tourism became a 50 percent owner in the famous astro-tourism experience Earth & Sky, with co-founders Murray and Ozawa. The spectacular, unpolluted night skies of Takapo attract people from all over the world, including top astronomers and physicists, according to University of Canterbury astronomer and director of the University of Canterbury Mt John Observatory, associate professor Karen Pollard.
