      The article revisits performance artist Marina Abramovi´' first solo exhibition in her hometown, Belgrade, Serbia in 1975. Topics covered include how the retrospective which was a feminist performance in socialist Yugoslavia has eclipsed values of collectivity and collaboration in Yugoslav art, the fraught relationship she has had with her homeland since her departure in 1975, and the type of performance work Abramovic did in the 1970s.
