It mentions ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the visible signs that climate change has arrived suggest the world will require global cooperation to a degree it has never seen before. It also mentions a book "Janesville: An American Story" by Amy Goldstein on how some of the workers laid off when the General Motors plant in Janesville, Wisconsin, closed in 2009 did not even know how to use computers.
