      The article presents persuasive ways of situating them within the sweep of Catholic history turning to dangerous forms of traditionalism. Topics include "integralism," highlighting its "absolutization of authority," "petrifying of tradition," and nostalgic longing for the Church to wield political power; and Integralism breaks with Vatican II's teaching on religious liberty and expresses a commitment to the political disenfranchisement of women, sexual minorities, and non-Catholics.
