      In this article, the author presents her views on challenges to remain nonpartisan for a city managers. Topics discussed include need to encourage managers and all members working in local government to refrain from all political activities which undermine public confidence in professional administrators; guidelines to actively fundraise on behalf of an issue-oriented organization; and challenges to be part of democracy while support the values and nonpartisanship.
