Lindquist From The Stamp Specialist White Book, #5, published in 1941, with new images Defense Postal Savings Issue Issued by the Post Office Department In 1941 the Post Office Department brought out an entirely new series of Defense Postal Savings Stamps, which were redeemable in the form of United States Treasury Defense or War Bonds. Plate layout for the 300 subject plate used for the production of 10 and 25 cent booklets of the 1941 Defense and 1942 War Savings Stamps. On the first page there were spaces for the five values of 10¢, 25¢, 50¢, $1 and $5 in singles.…On page eleven, spaces for the two plate number booklet panes of the 25¢ value; and page twelve blank for any oddities that might be secured.
