      The article explores the history of anti-Asian racism and violence in the U.S. Topics discussed include increase in anti-Asian hate crimes in the country since the Covid-19 pandemic began, and violence and racism faced by Asian immigrants and Asian Americans since before the Civil War including the Chinese massacre of 1871, Rock Springs massacre of 1885, and San Francisco plague outbreak.
