The article focuses on the formulation of the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) at the U.S. Penitentiary (USP) in Allenwood, Pennsylvania by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) for the treatment of mentally ill, high security inmates. It reports on the collaborative and cooperative efforts of the psychologists and custody staff in the treatment. It highlights the benefits of TCU for inmates struggling with mental health, as of May 2021.
