    • Abstract:
This article presents information on the history of Australian motion picture industry. Nobody would have anticipated in 1940, or even 1945, that the Australian feature film industry would virtually die in the 1950s and that public indifference, or even antipathy to the Australian cinema would be so strong. The greatest success came from Cinesound Productions under the management of film director Ken G. Hall. This began with its first production "On Our Selection," which was released in August 1932.
