      The article recalls the three moments experienced by French society of what is clearly a major revolt against neoliberalism from May 2005 to April 2006. The author views the three moments together to understand these class struggles. The causes of the revolts are discussed, including the decision of the French electorate rejecting the proposed European Constitution. In addition, the article explores the role of racism in the revolts.
