      The article focuses on the film adaptations of famous books in Australia. The literary adaptation remains a filmmaking staple in the country. However, attitudes to the adapted works vary from country to country and within countries. The enticement of adaptation never really fades away. Even in the 1980s and 90s, most commercially successful films were based on original screenplays.
